Textile artist Colin Brandi joined us to share his practice, demonstrating how he works with traditional patchwork and quilting techniques. In the future he is planning to start some workshops locally, exploring how to make quilts, household items and clothes from recycled fabrics, needle and thread.
Colin Brandi is a textile artist based near Keith. Drawing on the symbolism of colour and shape, Colin creates abstract textural pieces using fabrics that are primarily re-purposed, salvaged, gifted, and even rescued from a skip!

About Friday Lunch
The sharing of food is a great leveller. Every other Friday, we invite people to speak about topics that relate to art, ecology, birds, politics or many other threads of Huntly life. At 1pm our team, along with artists and whoever else wants to join us, have lunch together and get involved in this sharing of knowledge. All are welcome to join – just turn up on the day! We have a donations pot at this event, and suggest a donation of £2 which goes towards the cost of ingredients and any access needs for the speaker. More info can be found below the programme of speakers.

Home Programme

This event is part of the Home Programme, a series of regular community events taking place at Deveron Projects programmed by our Art & Community Worker. The Home Programme celebrates local knowledge and experience, and explores what it's like to live and work in and around Huntly. It includes Friday Lunch, as well as the monthly Food Chain cookery workshop, Art Club and stall at the Huntly Farmers' Market. If you'd like to contribute to the Home Programme, or know someone who you'd love to hear from, fill out the form below with their name(s) and what they do! Form link also available here.
