Maelle and Pauline are sisters who are currently working at Wantonwells Farm in Insch, but originally hail from a suburb of Paris. For June’s Food Chain, they shared a couple of delicious French dishes with us: tartiflette and tarte amandine. Tartiflette is a bake of potatoes, onion and cheese – for Maelle and Pauline, these are all the ingredients that represent France! They also showed us how to make one of their favourite desserts – tarte amandine, a sweet tart with almond cream and pears.

About Food Chain
Which rich culinary backgrounds do we have resident in our own community? Come along to our monthly group cook-along to learn someone else's recipes of home, where together we'll learn about each other's cultural backgrounds as we cook. All are welcome to join, but please email misa@deveron-projects.com prior to the event to book your space! We have a donations pot at this event, and suggest a donation of £5 which goes towards the cost of ingredients and any access needs for the speaker. More info can be found below the programme of recipe contributors.
Home Programme
This event is part of the Home Programme, a series of regular community events taking place at Deveron Projects programmed by our Art & Community Worker. The Home Programme celebrates local knowledge and experience, and explores what it's like to live and work in and around Huntly. It includes Friday Lunch, as well as the monthly Food Chain cookery workshop and a stall at the Huntly Farmers' Market. If you'd like to contribute to the Home Programme, or know someone who you'd love to hear from, then get in touch with our Art & Community Worker Misa on misa@deveron-projects.com.
