We're celebrating another brilliant year of cooking and learning together with a Big Food Chain potluck dinner – everyone welcome!
Food Chain is a monthly cookery workshop in Square Deal, which explores the rich culinary backgrounds we have resident in our communities. It's part of the Home Programme at Deveron Projects, a series of regular community events that celebrates local knowledge and experience, and explores what it's like to live and work in and around Huntly.
At Food Chain in the last year, we’ve traversed cuisines from all over the world, cooking French tartiflette, Czech fruit dumplings and Tanzanian plantain stew (to name just a few!) with visiting artists, Huntly residents and Deveron Projects team members. We’re wrapping up 2023 with a community potluck dinner – bring along a dish to share if you like, or just pop along yourself!
Have a look back at this year's recipes for some inspiration:
Miroslav's Czech fruit dumplings // Mélanie and Simon's Accra and Rougail Saucisse // Jono Osbaldiston's spinach and potato curry with chapatis // Duncan and Berkley's Curry 'No Goat' // Rufus de Silva's South Asian curries // The Hairst Committee's Stovies with a twist // Liberatha Alibalio's Plantain Stew // Oscar Williamson's Sri Lankan Hoppers // Luke and Ludovic Wright's Udon Noodles
Or bring along one of your own festive favourites!
All are welcome to join the Big Food Chain with or without a dish, but if you’d like to bring something and ingredients costs are a barrier, or you have other questions, please drop misa@deveron-projects.com a line.
