As part of Petra Pennington's project In the Wink of a Daisy, we had as open call for writing about time, be that a fairytale imagining the disastrous stopping of the Stewart’s Hall clock, a haiku describing a precious or mundane moment in time, or anything in between. On Saturday 2nd July, Petra facilitated a sharing of those stories alongside a screenprinting workshop.
The submitted texts were read aloud and discussed by their authors over tea and cake, and selected excerpts were screen printed and bound into chap books to take away. Anyone interested in chatting about time within diverse and varied perspectives was welcome to come along, whether they had sent in some writing or not. Alongside readings and discussion, there was also an opportunity to have a go at screen printing, as part of Petra's Slow Printing Service.
About the project
This event is part of In the Wink of a Daisy, a project with artist Petra Pennington. The project explores ways to measure time that are more human, connected and kind, and that encourage social change. Alongside the exploration of time, Petra will be offering a free/subsidised Slow Printing Service in the community.
