At July’s Farmer's Market we marked the final event in Kawther Luay’s project The Gathering Table – Act 3: Clay – with the help of artist Fionn Duffy. Fionn has collaborated with Kawther to design a set of ceramics made from River Bogie clay, to use in a series of meals as ‘hosts’ for ingredients and cultures to transform. Visitors to the stall got their hands into some wild clay we gathered from the River Bogie and learned how to forage and identify it for themselves!
About our Farmers' Market stall
On the first Saturday of every month, Huntly Square is filled with local producers and organisations for our town's Farmers' Market, including a stall from us! Swing by for activities that are there to ask questions and get people talking about goings on local to global, always alongside tea. You can find out about the other stalls at the market, including honey, cheese, bread and fish, at the Huntly Farmers' Market Facebook page. We don't organise the Huntly Farmers' Market, so if you're keen to know about the wider running of the market, give them a message on Facebook!
Home Programme
This event is part of the Home Programme, a series of regular community events taking place at Deveron Projects programmed by our Art & Community Worker. The Home Programme celebrates local knowledge and experience, and explores what it's like to live and work in and around Huntly. It includes Friday Lunch, as well as the monthly Food Chain cookery workshop, and a stall at the Huntly Farmers' Market. If you'd like to contribute to the Home Programme, or know someone who you'd love to hear from, then get in touch with our Art & Community Worker Misa on misa@deveron-projects.com.
