In this workshop, we will look at the theory of winter pruning followed by a trip to Huntly's Community Orchard for hands-on practical experience.1 After lunch we will then visit Bogie Side Orchard for further pruning experience. Bring your own secateurs, tree saws and loppers if you have them!
Workshop is led by Andrew Lear, who puts over 30 years of horticultural knowledge into practice by teaching and advising orchard groups and owners throughout Scotland, and supporting our heritage varieties of fruit.
Note for participants: There will be lots of opportunities to ask questions during the workshops. We recommend bringing water and some snacks to keep you going! Lunch and hot drinks will be provided. Please wrap up warm and bring waterproofs, if you have them—let us know if you don't have any, as we've a few spare jackets and trousers.
