Anne Ritchie, of Huntly Death Café, who would have been speaking this Saturday, runs a Death Café – a philosophical discussion over a cup of tea or coffee. The first one in Huntly took place on the 13th March 2023 – we have shared a poster of Anne's on our Facebook. Please see the link for Anne's contact details, if you are interested in getting in touch.

Through her project In the Wink of a Daisy, artist Petra Pennington is exploring Time. An open invite to respond to this theme showed that for many of the writers from the community, the concept of time is inseparable from that of death. There was a need to discuss this further. What does one mean without the other? Can they exist in isolation, or are our experiences of either concept entirely entangled through layers of existentialism and cross-cultural narrative imagery?

Anne Ritchie is an independent celebrant and founder of Huntly Death Cafe, a new local chapter of the global Death Cafe movement, aiming to provide a space for stigma-free discussion of death and associated processes, rituals and practicalities.

Join us to hear Petra and Anne in conversation about how our ideas of Death and Time intersect. There will be opportunity to add your thoughts and questions during and after this short philosophical panel discussion*, over coffee and cake.

This event is free to access; please book your seat via Eventbrite to enable us to provide enough tea, coffee and cake for everyone via the link above!
