We’re inviting artists based in Aberdeenshire to join us for our upcoming Artists’ Social at Square Deal in Huntly. Artists’ Socials are just what they say on the tin – a chance for artists to socialise. Come along, create connections and be part of a supportive creative community here in Aberdeenshire.
In October we will be focusing on looking and drawing in a relaxed, self-directed, life drawing session. This is suitable for everyone – whether you have tried life drawing before or this is your first time. Life drawing is an enjoyable way to explore materials, form, scale and line while drawing from the human form. There is no pressure to show others your work or to make ‘good’ drawings – everyone is welcome! In the event, we will invite the model to hold several short poses over the first hour, before settling into a longer pose after a short break.

Donations
We will have a donations pot at this event, and suggest a donation of £5 which goes towards the cost of this event. It is completely optional to donate, with the £5 being only a guideline; if you'd like to donate less or more, that's very welcome too!

~ This meetup is open to any artist living/working in Aberdeenshire or visiting – we have written a bit more about this at the bottom of this page.
~ Please bring something to draw on and with. This could be as simple as a notepad, some paper and a biro or pencil, or whatever you have to hand. We don't have easels but tables and drawing boards will be available.

Square Deal has level access from The Square, Huntly. There is an accessible toilet up a ramp, with baby changing facilities. The seating is folding metal chairs with backs and no arms. If there is anything we can put in place to help you feel comfortable at this event, please get in touch.

This might include, but is not limited to: painting, sculpting, drawing, performing, singing, walking, dreaming, facilitating, collaborating, writing, playing music, creating, thinking, growing, cooking… You do not need to have studied art, shown your work publicly, or be making things regularly to be an artist.
