On 10 May 2024, The National Gallery will celebrate its 200th anniversary, marking 200 years of bringing people and paintings together. For this Friday Lunch, Anna Murray from the Learning Department at The National Gallery joined us to talk about some of the plans to take the bicentenary celebrations on the road – and how you can get involved!
Anna Murray is the National Partnerships Programmer at The National Gallery in London. She develops and supports creative partnerships to advocate creative skill sharing and innovation in the visual arts sector. She looks after a range of national activity and learning projects at the Gallery, enabling audiences and partners to collaborate with the Gallery and to connect with a national collection.
About Friday Lunch
The sharing of food is a great leveller. Every other Friday, we invite people to speak about topics that relate to art, ecology, birds, politics or many other threads of Huntly life. At 1pm our team, along with artists and whoever else wants to join us, have lunch together and get involved in this sharing of knowledge. All are welcome to join – just turn up on the day! We have a donations pot at this event, and suggest a donation of £2 which goes towards the cost of ingredients and any access needs for the speaker. More info can be found below the programme of speakers.
Home Programme
This event is part of the Home Programme, a series of regular community events taking place at Deveron Projects programmed by our Art & Community Worker. The Home Programme celebrates local knowledge and experience, and explores what it's like to live and work in and around Huntly. It includes Friday Lunch, as well as the monthly Food Chain cookery workshop, Art Club and stall at the Huntly Farmers' Market. If you'd like to contribute to the Home Programme, or know someone who you'd love to hear from, fill out the form below with their name(s) and what they do! Form link also available here.
