Learning from a plant with the guidance of Ju Scott, artist, bodyworker and herbalist.
Ju lead an exercise in which we sat with a plant to share what we see, experience and feel while sitting with it. We were then led through a meditative experience giving our attention to the plant to explore what the plant may be communicating to us. We came together afterwards to share our experiences and then compare our experiences with what is traditionally known about the plant, both in the group's existing knowledge and what's written in books.
Ju is familiar with holding these spaces and holds these exercises regularly in the community herbal garden they co-run in Glasgow. All invitations and guidance is optional, there are no wrong answers and no experience of similar things is necessary, simply an interest in the experience and herbal learning. Come as you are.
This event forms part of Ju Scott's Garden Residency in the Brander Garden. Throughout September, Ju will be sharing unknown and unheard aspects of the garden, including the properties of the plants living within. For more information about Ju's Garden Residency see the project page.
