Designed by artist Iman Tajik, this walk will take place from the town centre of Glasgow to the Dungavel House immigration removal centre, approximately 26 miles south of the city. The walk is part of Tajik's project Bordered Miles, through which we are looking at issues surrounding migration, borders and landflight – past and present in an area in Scotland that has been depopulated through political activity, while many say our country is full.
The walk draws attention to the movement of bodies as a natural right of any species. Developed in collaboration with the Glasgow International Festival, this walk is an opportunity for participants to walk and talk together. Note: Bordered Miles is a strenuous ca 10 hour walk. You must be fit and early training is recommended. Walking essentials to bring. Booking available soon.
