Deveron Projects’ 25th Birthday

“You go yours and I’ll go mine, the many ways we’ll wend. Many days and many ways, ending in one end.”
George Macdonald

We're a quarter of a century old!

To celebrate 25 years of creative-critical social intervention, and to herald the next phase of Deveron Projects, we hosted a bunch of on and offline events. Our celebrations consisted of feasting, talks and fun with Neep & Okra at Home goodies and much more.

Friday 4th December

Our Friday Lunch for our Birthday week was lead by David Blyth and Julia Douglas, two of our very first Artists in Residence.

Saturday 5th December

We joined the December Farmers' Market to celebrate our 25 years. There was the cutting of a special birthday cake, made by our Honesty Bakehouse bakers Kate and Christine, a community timeline to add to with memories of past and propositions for the future, and we were joined, both digitally and physically, by current artists in residence Caroline Wendling and Lizabett Russo

Saturday 11am – Sunday night
Everyone near or far could watch a film of Claudia Zeiske taking us through a powerpoint of the last 25 years of Deveron Projects. Featured in this 4.5 hours (or so) film with some 550 images will be every project that has been created here. Dip in and out as you feel:

Sunday 6th December

To culminate our Birthday weekend, we were hosting a big digital Lunch with many previous artists, funders, staff and community members from the past 25 years. Our local global kitchen Neep & Okra and the Honesty Bakehouse provided everyone with a Recipe Box to cook a bountiful three course meal and musicians and artists treated us to performances. Don't be sad if you missed it – you can use Neep & Okra's recipes and shopping list to get a slice of the action at home!
